Beachcomber Jacket

Join us in making a quilted Beachcomber Jacket by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts that will be great for spring.  It starts with a sweatshirt at the base so no pattern fitting or sizing is necessary.  You can choose to keep it lightweight with the sweatshirt as the backing or you can add a lining fabric to make it a bit more colorful and warmer.  They are so much fun to make, you will not be able to just make one (plus you can make them in ANY size).  Techniques will include using the 4 up flying geese method, creating beautiful bound seams, adding a hang tag, basic machine quilting, hand stitching for design element, creative design for laying out your garment and designing future jackets!

Dates are on Wednesday's, 9/13, 10/4, and 10/18 from 10 am to 3 pm. Cost for the class is $90. You will need to bring: Beachcomber pattern (available in store); crewneck sweatshirt (wait until AFTER first class to purchase); fat quarter bundle or 15-30 fat quarters; 7 fat quarters of background color choice(s) or 1-3/4 yds of one fabric choice; 2-1/2 yds lining fabric (optional); 3/4 yard for binding.

You will also need: sewing machine & manual (must have working knowledge of your machine) with walking foot with guide and 1/4" foot; 80/12 new needle; 6-1/2" square ruler (or larger) and 18 or 24" long ruler; Stripology ruler (optional);  cutting mat & rotary cutter; Wooly pressing bar; chalk, water soluble and/or herra marker; pencil; quilters safety pins, Washi or painters tape; thread. (Optional for hand stitching on binding - Aurafil 12 wt and a hand needle).

Class must have a minimum of 3 participants for the class to be held.  If the class does not make, you will have your choice of a refund using your original payment method, or store credit.  If you cancel or are a no show, no refund will be issued, however any kit items purchased will be given to you on your next visit.  Thank you.
