The Colorful Quilter

Does the thought of choosing your own fabrics for a quilt project make your palms sweat?  Does picking out coordinating colors make you weak in the knees?  Does combining pattern and print make your head swirl?  Panic no more...  Learn to be confident in color choices and combinations in this Color Theory for Quilters workshop.  This class is lecture based with a number of hands-on activities to allow you to practice the given concepts.  While no projects are completed in the workshop, participants will receive a free pattern to create their own fabric color wheel! 

We will cover the following topics:
1.  The color wheel - a visual representation of color
2.  Color combinations that work
3.  The properties of color
4.  Neutrals - how to use them effectively
5.  Solids, prints and patterns
6.  Reading fabric color
7.  Inspiration - where to look
8.  Getting out of your color comfort zone

Participants will be encouraged to curate a fabric collection during class.  Feel free to bring in a pattern and a fabric you would like to build a collection around.  Join Colleen Schaan and learn to be confident in color!

This class will be held on Saturday, November 4th from 12 pm to 4 pm. The cost for this class is $30 and includes instruction and free pattern.  This is a SEWING INTENSIVE CLASS AND HOMEWORK WILL BE REQUIRED. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to set-up and prepare for class. Please note there is a lid requirement for all drinks.

Class must have a minimum of 3 participants for the class to be held.  If the class does not make, you will have your choice of a refund using your original payment method, or store credit.  If you cancel or are a no show, no refund will be issued, however any kit items purchased will be given to you on your next visit.  Thank you.
